"I can handle defeat hahahaha I can't handle people asking me why why why...I'm sharing this with you because you deserve to know my side, we don't need to defend to anyone. I did my very best and I have no regrets.", ayon kay Gumabao.

Bruce:
"IN DEFENC(S)E OF MICHELLE GUMABAO
A lot has been said. And I am silently hurting because I know the character of this woman. Mahirap maniwala sa mga sinasabi ng iba kasi nakilala ko siya sa PNP aa part of our advocacy. She works for youth empowerment through sports while OFW naman ako. In fact, dun ko sa Crame nalaman na sasali siya sa MUP kasi it is her dream to represent PH sa MU or MW. And I understand na nabitin siya sa Miss Globe kasi iba talaga yung dalawa sa prestige. Nakita ko yung humility niya. She was even telling me na, she will prepare, she wants it and that it is her dream and this will be her last year.
Pero I know that it is not easy to win especially with such illustrious opponents. And never ko narinig si Michelle talk ill about anyone kahit na ako minsan ang nagfifish. Kasi, yan ang ugali niya. Parang mother hen. She makes sure kumakain na ang lahat before siya kakain and grabe ang pagmamahal niya sa mga aso niya. She knows her weakness and she also knows her limitations.
So masakit sa akin ang marinig ang bash sa kanya kasi as far as I am concerned, she will never be a sore loser. Kung nakulong ang tatay mo, napag-aral mo ang sarili mo at naging self-sufficient as a young age, sa palagay niyo hindi sanay sa pagkatalo ang isang Michelle Gumabao? And seeing how worthy her opponents are, do you think she minds losing to worthy opponents. She gave me a valid explanation and naintindihan ko.
For the record, MG did not walk out of the actual pageant. Umuwi siya ng maaga sa viewing event the day after kasi aside from the fact na emotionally drained siya, she also felt bad sa mga nagtatanong ng paulit-ulit na:
Why did you lose? Anong nangyari? Bakit ka natalo?
Naman, kung itatanong ng paulit-ulit ang isang tanong na wala siyang sagot kasi she did her best at kung di siya bet ng judge, ano magagawa niya. I mean, it is like putting salt on a wound. So she left before the announcement.
Would I have done the same? No...plastic ako eh. Pero si MG, hindi. And at 27, this is her last furlough sa MUP.
Hindi ko din siya tinanong about dun sa withdrawal if she really said it. But she will issue an official statement.
Gawa-gawa ko ba ito? Nope. And as proof, I will present screenshots of our convo as good faith on my part. Sa akin lang, please do not jump into conclusions until you heard everything. And ito real talk, I always ascribe to my opinion that MG is more Miss World material. My proof: Rolene Strauss of SA who is similar to MG in many ways plus she will easily get in via the Sports category. The blue crown is more probable for her. Kaso, natatakot na siya.
Imagine that, a fighter like Michelle Gumabao.
I still believe in my dream for her. I love Michelle Gumabao in the same way I love our MUP, Rabiya Mateo and my Bisaya queen, Alaiza Malinao. And love is not exclusive.
And as a pageant loving nation, we have too much love for our queens that it baffles me why there is so much negativity in the air."
