On Sunday, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that “water jeepney” rides will be free for one month starting on December 9, 2019.
On the Facebook page of DOTr, they said water jeepney rides for the route for Cavite-Manila and vice versa is free from Dec. 9 this year to Jan. 9, 2020.
According to DOTr, this was made possible due to the support from two shipping firms, namely: Seaborne Shipping Company Inc. and Shogun Shops Company.

"UST IN: Inanunsiyo ni DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade na ISANG BUWANG LIBRE sa publiko ang pagsakay sa inilunsad na 'water jeepneys' mula Cavite hanggang Maynila at pabalik.
Pumayag ang dalawang shipping company na Seaborne Shipping Company Inc. at Shogun Ships Co. Inc. na ilibre ito sa mga mananakay sa pagsisimula ng operasyon nito.
Bilang pamaskong handog ng DOTr, MARINA, PCG, PPA at lokal na pamahalaan ng Cavite, magsisimula ang libreng sakay bukas, ika-9 ng Disyembre 2019 hanggang ika-9 ng Enero sa susunod na taon.
Mula sa dating tatlo (3) hanggang apat (4) na oras na biyahe mula Maynila hanggang Cavite at pabalik, magiging 15-20 minuto na lang!
