Businessman Charlie "Atong" Ang has clarified the story behind the photo
of him and Gretchen Baretto that surface in social media holding hands while sleeping on a plane, as well as a photo of the two at an airport holding hands while seated in a plane.
“Si Gretchen kasi, very close sa akin, parang kapatid ko talaga ‘yan. Katabi ko. Kuwento nang kuwento, inaantok na ako. Ang daming sinasabi kasi makuwento talaga ‘yan." Ang said during an interview with the TV Patrol anchor Noli de Castro.
“Sabi ko, ‘G, matutulog na muna ako, sige na.’ Kaya ginano’n ko ‘yung kamay niya. ‘Tama na muna, matutulog na muna ako.’ Siguro stewardess ‘yung kumuha ng picture. Hindi ko tinatanggi ‘yun.” he added.

The photo went viral after Marjorie Baretto answered in a televised interview the accusations thrown at her by sister Gretchen, in relation to the reported scuffle during the wake of their father Miguel Baretto at The Heritage Park in Taguig which was witnessed by President Rodrigo Duterte.
"Unaware. Good morning, San Francisco. I crossed [a] bit over a bit much. This photo was sent through direct message. I'm being asked to react. It is clear I was asleep on a plane ride." she explained.

Marjorie alleged that Ang was formerly in a five-year relationship with her niece, Nicole Baretto, until he was “stolen” by Gretchen, but the latter responded by stating that it is her sister Claudine who had Ang “stolen” from her by Nicole.
These claims were already denied by Ang in an earlier statement, saying Gretchen and her long-time partner Tonyboy Cojuangco are business partners, and Nicole was his former employee.
