Affiliation and power
One of the speculations that were spread during the hot time of the issue is that the bully, Joaquin Montes, and his brother were known bullies of the school. In fact, the older Montes was kicked out from San Beda because of bullying.
It was also said that the school was already receiving countless reports about the bully for at least three years already, but nothing is being done. This, they say is because the family is well connected to Peping Cojuangco.
Denial of connection
The Cojuangcos were also quiet about their name being brought up in the issue. But today, Peping's daughter Regina Patricia Jose Cojuangco-Gonzalez published a post through Facebook stating that her father is not affiliated nor does he know the bully, his family or anyone in the video.
“It has come to my attention that my dad's name has been mentioned in recent posts…”
“Just to set the records straight from our side, my dad, PEPING COJUANGCO does not know – nor is affiliated to those involved in the bullying incident in Ateneo.”
“Praying and hoping that the bullying issue/s shall be resolved immediately and proper consequences should be given to those at fault,”
Prayers
She also extended her prayers and hoped that the issue shall be resolved immediately and that proper consequences would be given to those who deserve it. She hopes that this clears her father's name and that those who are dragging their name stop.
