Despite celebrations and wonderful wishes for another year of success of Miss Universe, some expressed disbelief and throw shade on such prestigious pageantry.

One is Miss Grand International 2018,  who recently uploaded a cryptic post about Gray and the organization of Miss Universe. The photo shows her and Nawat Itsaragrisil, the President of Miss Grand International all-smiles while cooking in a kitchen set-up. She then captioned it with,

“Mabuhay! Real cooking show lol!”

And wrapped up with a tears-laughing emoji.

Netizens Defend Catriona Gray 

Netizens came back-up to defend Catriona which obviously depicts that the post is intended for the Miss Universe 2018.


“Mabuhay!” is a Filipino greeting thus netizens believe that it directly points out to the new Ms. U ambassador. Although Sosa did not mention the pageantry brand and Catriona Gray, netizens think that such post is timely and not merely coincidental. For many, it is purposely directed to the organization and Gray after its wrap up.

Unpopular, Unprofessional 

Netizens expressed dismay and more likely surprised in the existence of Miss Grand International. For many, they never heard of it which made them google it first. Some has called out Sosa for being unprofessional and dragging the name of the minor pageantry she won over. Some remarkably said,
