Manila, Philippines- After a successful launch in San Andres,
Manila in the previous week, the Agriculture department opened on Friday
another outlet of its Tienda Malasakit Store in Quezon City.
Located inside the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) compound
along elliptical road, are Tienda Malasakit farm product offers – at very low
prices.
DA secretary Manny Piñol happily shared the news that farmers
and fishermen who brought their farm produce both in Bureau of Plant Industry
Compound in Manila and the DA Central Office in Quezon City earned P2-M in just
one day on Friday.

FARMERS EARN P2-M FROM FRIDAY TIENDA
Farmers and fishermen who brought
their produce to the Department of Agriculture’s TienDA in the Bureau of Plant
Industry Compound in Manila and the DA Central Office in Quezon City earned
P2-M in just one day on Friday.
The DA Agribusiness and Marketing
Office reported that total day sales in the DA Central Office amounted to
P725,360 while sales from NFA rice totaled P120,000.
Yesterday was the first time the
TienDA was opened in the DA Central Office.
Over at the BPI Compound in San
Andres, Manila, gross sales as of 5 p.m. yesterday totalled P1,224,552.
The TienDA in both areas reopened
today with huge crowds enjoying fresh vegetables, fish, fruits, chicken and
rice at farm gate prices.
Next week, the third TienDA
Farmers and Fishermen’s Outlet will be opened in Alabang, Muntinlupa to serve
consumers in the southern part of Metro Manila.
On Oct. 13, the TienDA Malasakit
Store will be opened in Taguig City with the support of Mayor Lani Cayetano.
Another TienDA Malasakit Store
will also be opened in Bulacan City second week of October.
