I know there's a reason you've traveled that far. I also know the reason behind.
Getting lost to find yourself is no stranger to me. And so do running away from the place nobody wants to live in.
As you try to break free, expect that hitting the road doesn't guarantee you'll be okay. Even so, I hope you keep in mind that no two days are the same. What may hurt as hell today may only sting a bit tomorrow. And I hope that's enough to keep you going.
The unkind weather may try to stop you. Still, you must continue no matter how slippery the road gets, no matter how rough the road gets, until you can no longer notice just how bad the ride is.
As a friend once told me, "as we grow older, our problems don’t become easier, we just get better in handling them".
Oh boy! I didn't know I would prove it myself one day.
In the course of finding the answers to the questions you've been meaning to ask, questions that continue to bother you, I pray that you don’t lose yourself along the way. Because truth be told, there's nothing more terrible than losing your self.
With countless humps and bumps you would encounter as you go, apart from the unforgiving biting cold, don’t you dare think you're taking that road alone. Because there are hundreds of thousands of people who are just like you. Hurting. Confused. Lost.
Regardless of what you’re going through, I want to let you know that in this funny thing called 'life', hard times, just like the easy ones, is as sure as the break of dawn. And though it may get too much to bear sometimes, allow me to tell you something to ponder.
Life is a long and winding road. Despite of being battered with pain after pain, life wouldn't get enough of you. It still has a lot of chaos to throw at you. And guess what, it will not be over until your time is over. That is why there is no so much time to get down on your knees, dwelling on something you can no longer change.
There will be times that your struggles, just like the roads, would seem endless. But hope, just like the roads, springs eternal. Life, just like the roads, is full of twists and turns. Maybe on your next turn, something surprising awaits you. Maybe the next street is where the answers you've been looking for resides. Who knows?
Still and all, don’t force yourself to move forward if you don’t have sufficient fuel to get you going. Take a break every once in a while. Breathe. Take a moment to release the hurt, to let it off your chest. Scream your heart out. Cry buckets of tears. Until you already have enough strength to carry on and pick yourself up. Again.
Do whatever you think would help you get better. Whatever it takes to heal. Whatever it takes to find the answers. Whatever it takes to be found. Just promise that wherever your feet may take you, it makes you happy.
I wish that as you go farther, your endurance of life's hardships would be as far. As you cross the blue waters, your wisdom would be as deep. As you take flight, may your dreams do, too.
I’m hoping one day, when you’re already driven to come back home, as you trace your footprints, you would already see everything with a different perspective – a clearer and a better perspective.
You need not to force yourself understanding everything, all you need to do is have the courage to face them.
The struggle may be far from over, but at least, you're on your way.
In your pursuit to find yourself, I’m leaving you a part of a song from the great Alanis:
You will learn to lose everything
We are temporary arrangements
And you're like a 90's Noah
And they laughed at you
As you packed all of your things
And they wonder why you're frustrated
And they wonder why you're so angry
And is it just me or are you fed up?
God bless you in your travels
In your conquests and queries
