The vendor was named Norwin Del Rosario and his act was shared by an Erika Jean Moyo Manzanilla on Facebook.
She said that Del Rosario, or "Kuya" entered their classroom supposedly to sell his product but was not given attention by the class until he began to solve the math problem on their blackboard.
The lesson was about “combination of operatives and complex numbers” and to the surprise of the students, "Kuya" was able to solve the problem.
The student added that the vendor even spoke in English, “At yun na nga. Nakakaproud.”
The blogsite "The Summit Express" shared the story which happened in the city of Naga, claiming that it was one of the classic "do not judge a book by its cover" narrative.
According to Manzanilla, before becoming a vendor, Kuya Norwin finished a 4-year course in Business Economics and Management. He apparently aspired to be a teacher but failed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) twice.
Despite this, "Kuya" said he isn’t giving up on his dreams.
The student also shared that the vendor encouraged them not to give up on their dreams, to stay humble, and kind.
“Be humble kahit nasa taas kana ng estado ng buhay. 'Wag kalimutang lumingon sa ating pinanggalingan.”
He also added that, “kayang magbago ng isang tao at ‘wag kang matakot magshare ng iyong kaalaman sa ibang tao na alam mong nangangailangan nito."
“Thank you kuya sa shinare mong kaalaman sa amin! We ABM students and other students are so proud of you kuya.
The Facebook post has gone viral with almost 20 thousand reactions as of writing.

"Sapin-sapin or kutchinta vendor
Norwin Del Rosario
11:20 nung pumasok si kuya sa room namin which is 12-ABM
He asks for our prayers.
Thank you kuya sa shinare mong kaalaman saamin!
