The said bill obligates all government hospitals to have a dialysis facility and it also aims to expand the Philhealth benefit package on kidney transplants.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development will be tasked to determine the beneficiaries of this said bill. This would greatly benefit the poor for each session of a kidney dialysis would cost one 600 pesos per session if the Filipino is covered by Philhealth or any government health insurance. But with the waived fee, this would be save a poor Filipino two days of salary.
