“I'm sorry po”, her tweet reads.
On the same tweet, she explained further that she neither mean to be misunderstood nor offend anyone.
“I don't mean to be misunderstood po and I don't mean to offend anyone”, Pia said.
The former beauty queen also added that she is very much pro-life and concluded her tweet by thanking her fellow Filipinos.
"I am very much pro-life. Salamat po mga kababayan", said the actress-beauty queen.
The fuss took place right after she tweeted a congratulatory message to the Philippines which seemed to refer to the government or more specifically, the current administration of Pres. Duterte.
On her tweet, she said "Everyday may crown ang Philippines! Congratulations!!"
Soon after, bashers were fast enough to attack the brunette beauty.

Veteran TV host and political consultant Mike Acebedo Lopez also came across the online bashing over Pia's tweet and aired his thoughts.
In Mike Lopez's Facebook post, the political consultant said "So the Yellows are trolling Pia because of her support for the President and they're framing the narrative as if support for the President equals support for EJK. And they complain why they're blocked?".
Hitting 'yellows' hard, the Veteran TV host also said "Kayong mga Yellow, wala kayong sing ubod ng bastos. Why are you anti-dictators kuno dictating on Pia on whom she wants to support?".
